I am intrigued by the contrasts and contradictions that are so prevalent in our lives. We sprang from the earth and the animal world, but have drifted and evolved. My relationship to the natural world is a constant source of inspiration and rejuvenation. At the same time, I am fascinated by science, technology and the processes of making.
The Agate in this piece is one that I found on the Yellowstone on one of many family adventures. The Yogo Sapphires are also a natural wonder found only in Montana. The design language reflects my interest in Modernism, Art Deco and Science Fiction. My hope is that to the viewer form follows function… and function is a question that the individual must determine on their own.
