The majority of the staff was lucky enough to get to visit the Yogo Sapphire mine. Mike, owner of the Yogo mine, invited the staff up for the weekend to see the operation. We got to go underground and see where the mining operation takes place, see the vein up close, see the washing plant and pick for sapphires in the jig. It was a wonderful opportunity to see how everything really works. We also toured around the area to see the where Yogo Sapphire mining began and what it looks like today. It really brought the history we write about on our Yogo History page to life.
